ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival and Big 5 Game Drive
- Arrive at Lengishu for lunch
- Settle in and enjoy the pool
- Tea comprising of the goodies which were cooked fresh that morning
- Embark on a Big 5 game drive to get the lay of the land
- Sundowners in the bush with a hot dinner for the children
- Dinner at Lengishu
Day 2: Bush Adventure and Relaxation
- Parents to head out to track black and white rhino on foot at first light followed by breakfast in the bush under the shade of a euphorbia tree
- Morning at Lengishu for the children – bush skills lesson (includes bow & arrow making, learning how to track various creatures, edible plants and their medicinal properties etc)
- Back to Lengishu for lunch
- Afternoon by the pool with massages for parents whilst children are cared for by the Lengishu staff
- Evening bush walk or game drive to Pride Rock with hot dinner for the children
- Return to Lengishu for children’s bedtime and parent’s dinner
Day 3: Rhino Tracking and Forest Excursion
- Spend the morning on a game drive, bush walk or mountain bike
- Breakfast at Lengishu
- Visit Ngare Ndare Forest with a picnic lunch
- Swim in glacier melt water and walk in the canopy of this ancient forest among birds and monkeys
- Return to Lengishu in time for tea
- Early dinner for children by the pool whilst parents enjoy sundowners
- Swahili inspired BBQ dinner at Lengishu pool
Day 4: Horse Riding, Bush Walk, and Cocktails
- Early morning horse riding for all ages – riding to Lengishu for breakfast
- Picnic lunch on the river in Borana Conservancy
- Guests can swim in the river
- Return to Lengishu in time for tea – massages for parents
- Cocktails and children’s dinner at the Lengishu private sundowner spot
- Dinner at Lengishu
Day 5: Elephant Orphanage and Porcupine Hunt
- Early breakfast at Lengishu
- Depart by helicopter* for a day-long adventure including feeding time at the RETETI elephant orphanage and exploring the Suguta Valley
- Light packed lunch in Northern Kenya with the helicopter
- Return to Lengishu in time for a porcupine hunt within the Lengishu grounds at sunset
- Early dinner for children, cocktail hour for parents
- Dinner at Lengishu
Day 6: Farm tour & Borana day
- Breakfast at Lengishu after a relaxing morning
- Farm tour of Waitabit Farm
- A ‘Make Your Own Pizza’ lunch at Lengishu
- Visit to the Mazingira Yetu Centre & the Borana Ranger HQ
- Evening game drive with sundowners and dinner for children
- Dinner at Lengishu
Day 7: Cultural immersion
- Visit a local Maasai village
- Picnic breakfast & game drive on the way there/way back
- Lunch at Lengishu
- Afternoon cooking lessons with Sam for the children, massages for the parents
- Head out for sundowners with the treats cooked by the children
- Bush dinner
Day 8: Departure
- Early morning breakfast at Lengishu
- Short game drive to the Borana airstrip
- Depart for a charter flight to Nairobi
